Task of the comber:

• Elimination of pre determined Quantity of short fiber.
• Removal of impurities.
• Removal of large portion of neps in fiber.
• Formation of sliver with high evenness.

Influence of combing on yarn quality:

• yarn evenness
• strength
• yarn cleanness
• smoothness
• visual appearance.

Types of  comber:

Generally comber may be 4 types:

• rectilinear combers (with stationary or oscillating nippers)
• circular comber (English worsted process)
• rotary comber (production of schappe spun yarns)
• Hackling machines (bast fibers)
